It Simply Is

by Sheila Fox

A messenger that comes from within and without, it simply is.

My heart, my lungs say pay attention
Cry, gasp, cling tight
What do they want to say?
What do they want to say?
Breathe deep

Air is here, Air is there
Air, a part of everyone who’s born
Breathe in love, welcome breath in
Air, a messenger that comes from within and without
It simply is.

My shoulders, my back, say pay attention
Throb, squeeze, grip tight
What do they want to say?
What do they want to say?
Listen.

Pain is here, pain is there, pain, a part of everyone who’s born
Hold it in love, welcome pain
Pain, a messenger that comes from within and without
It simply is.

My heart, my mouth, say pay attention
Warm, laugh, giggle with joy
What do they want to say?
What do they want to say?
Smile very wide

Joy is yours, Joy is theirs
Joy, a part of everyone who’s born
Feel joy now, share with all
Joy, a messenger that comes from within and without
It simply is.

My heart, my mind, say pay attention
Rest, open, expand broadly
What do they want to say?
What do they want to say?

Just simply be
Being is here, being is there, being is a part of everything that is
Be present now, just awareness now,
Awareness is what is anyway, from within and without
It simply is, it simply is, it simply is, it simply is!
